Chelsea Muscat is a writer, director, cinematographer and overall creative force that ignites stories with a spark that lingers long after the screen fades to black. Born and raised on the island of Gozo, her journey has been a tapestry of inspiration that now colors her cinematic palette. Leaving her sun-soaked childhood behind, Chelsea's family embarked on a new chapter in the States, where she carved her own path, emerging as the first college graduate in her family, earning a Film BFA from SUNY Purchase.

Her works have screened at esteemed festivals  like NFFTY, the Indianapolis LGBT Film Fest, New Filmmkers NY,  Tribeca's My City Our Story, NoBudge, GIF (Girls in Film), Kinemastik Film Fest, and Spazzju Kreativ. In a crescendo of achievement, her senior film "Searching For The Wave" clinched the Sol Turrell award for outstanding filmmaking and took home the best LGBTQ film award at NFFTY Film Festival.

Stepping into uncharted waters, Chelsea's latest solo made film "Lost Kid Wanderer" garnered recognition as a recipient of the 2022 Inside Out Toronto 2SLGBTQ+ Focus Fund which was announced via Deadline. But Chelsea's talents aren't limited to the reel. Her evocative photography series, "Mommy Nervosa," a poignant exploration of her mother's mental health, found its place in the pages of prestigious publications like the Netherlands magazine LINDA and Australian magazine Feature Shoot. The work has resonated with many people globally.  

Chelsea's explores themes of love, abandonment, and isolation, meticulously woven into the fabric of fiction, documentary, and experimental film, as well as her captivating photography. With a deep dive into the intricate dance of human relationships, her work dissects the cycle of trauma - from mother-daughter dynamics to queer relationships. Driven by intuition, resourcefulness, and unwavering passion, she weaves pivotal moments from her life into cinema, as a means of closure.
